Role Overview:
Join our accounts and audit team as an Apprentice Accounts Assistant. This role is designed to help you develop your accounting knowledge and skills. You’ll be working closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in various accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Records Management: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations for various businesses using Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent.
- VAT Returns: Prepare VAT returns accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Client Projects: Collaborate with senior accountants and auditors to support the completion of client projects, contributing to high-quality deliverables.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to meet deadlines and ensure smooth workflow on jobs outside your direct responsibilities.
- Administrative Support: Support the overall administrative functions of the firm, including answering phone calls and managing emails.
Qualifications Required:
- Educational Requirements: Minimum Level 2 AAT qualification
- Academic Requirements: GCSEs in Maths and English
Wage/Salary:
- National minimum wage for apprentices, with the potential for a higher rate if you have prior experience.
